Jaipur, Rajasthan – April 30, 2024: The North Western Railway (NWR) has invited bids for a major infrastructure project – doubling the railway line between Ajmer and Singawal in Rajasthan. This initiative aims to enhance railway capacity and improve connectivity in the region.
Project Details
The tender encompasses a variety of civil works, including:
- Earthwork in bank/cutting with blanketing
- Construction of minor bridges, Road Under Bridges (RUBs), and Left Handsided (LHS) subways
- Foot-over bridges (FoBs) for pedestrian movement
- Trolley refuges for safe passage of maintenance personnel
- Construction of toe and retaining walls for slope stabilization
- Pitching for track support
- Station building improvements and ancillary structures
- Platform development and sheds for passenger comfort
- Staff quarters and other essential facilities
The project excludes Ajmer station but covers Singawal station, spanning a significant distance between the two locations. It falls under the purview of NWR’s Ajmer division and is part of the broader Ajmer-Chanderiya doubling project.
Project Timeline and Budget
The shortlisted contractor will be responsible for completing the project within a stipulated timeframe of 30 months. The estimated value of the contract stands at ₹287.32 crore (US$40.3 million).
