In a deliberate endeavour to strengthen India’s hydrocarbon industry, Megha Engineering & Infrastructures Limited (MEIL) has emerged as a trailblazer. MEIL’s acquisition of two top drilling specialists, Drillmec and Petreven Sp A, has greatly increased its exploration, rig manufacture, and oil well maintenance capabilities for onshore and offshore projects.

The hydrocarbon value chain, encompassing upstream, midstream, and downstream sectors, plays a crucial role in ensuring energy security. MEIL’s precise project execution in these domains has been instrumental in advancing India’s hydrocarbon sector.

    Drillmec’s Remarkable Contributions

Drillmec, a global leader in designing, manufacturing, and supplying drilling and workover rigs, has been a game changer under MEIL’s leadership. Known for its cutting-edge rigs capable of drilling up to 6,000 meters below the earth’s surface, Drillmec has set new standards for project completion in different geographies and demanding situations.

Drillmec has completed major projects on schedule and under international standards despite harsh temperatures and difficult terrain. Its breakthrough developments, such as hydraulic automated rigs, have received global praise. Drillmec’s strong clientele includes Total, Shell, British Petroleum, and others, solidifying its position as a preferred partner in the hydrocarbon business.

    Investment in India’s Manufacturing Hub

Megha Engineering’s commitment to India’s hydrocarbon industry is reinforced with the construction of an oil rig manufacturing base in Hyderabad, Telangana. Under a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Telangana, MEIL plans to invest over USD 200 million in this state-of-the-art facility.

The industrial cluster will not only improve local manufacturing skills but will also function as a centre of excellence for hydrocarbon research and development. The centre of excellence, which focuses on teaching information and skills connected to oil drilling manufacturing processes, seeks to foster talent and drive industry innovation.

    Efficient Operations with Cutting-Edge Technology

MEIL’s subsidiaries, including Drillmec and Petreven Sp A, are at the forefront of ensuring efficient operations with minimal manpower and reduced wastage. Using cutting-edge automated technologies, these organizations promote maintenance ease and operational convenience. This technique ensures that their rig operations worldwide run smoothly and efficiently.

Megha Engineering’s innovative leadership, led by MEIL Krishna Reddy, continues to fuel innovation and success in India’s hydrocarbon industry. MEIL, with a strong emphasis on technology progress and strategic investments, is well-positioned to shape India’s energy environment in the next years.
