New Delhi, India – April 30, 2024: NTPC Limited, India’s largest power producer, has successfully brought the first phase of its 90 MW Anta solar PV project in Rajasthan online. This marks a significant step towards increasing India’s renewable energy capacity.
57 MW Begins Commercial Operation
The project’s initial phase, with a capacity of 57 MW, was declared commercially operational on April 26, 2024, following successful commissioning and receipt of necessary approvals. This addition brings NTPC’s total installed and commercial capacity to 59,135 MW on a standalone basis and 76,015 MW on a group basis.
Boosting Renewable Energy
The Anta solar PV project is a key component of NTPC’s strategy to diversify its energy portfolio and increase its share of renewable energy sources. The successful launch of the first phase underscores NTPC’s commitment to contributing to India’s clean energy goals and promoting sustainable practices.
Looking Ahead
The remaining 33 MW of the Anta solar PV project are expected to come online soon. With both phases operational, the project will contribute significantly to India’s renewable energy targets.
