REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited (RECPDCL) has successfully handed over a key power transmission project in Uttar Pradesh to Megha Engineering & Infrastructures Limited (MEIL). The project involves the construction of a 765 kV – 400 kV D/C transmission line between Meerut and Shamli. 

MEIL emerged victorious after a competitive bidding process conducted by RECPDCL on behalf of the Uttar Pradesh Power Transmission Corporation Limited (UPPTCL). RECPDCL acted as the Bid Process Coordinator for this intra-state transmission project. 

The official handover ceremony was held in the presence of Satybaan Sahoo, General Manager (Engg.) from RECPDCL, alongside other officials from both RECPDCL and UPPTCL. 

This project is expected to significantly bolster Uttar Pradesh’s power transmission infrastructure. The successful completion of the Meerut-Shamli transmission line will likely improve grid stability and enhance electricity accessibility within the state.
