The Jhelum River level in Srinagar rose on Monday after consecutive days of rainfall across various parts of Jammu and Kashmir. Despite the increase in water levels, the river remained below the danger mark, providing a sigh of relief to residents and authorities monitoring the situation. 

According to reports, rainfall persisted across the region for the second consecutive day, contributing to the elevation of the river’s water levels. While the wet weather is expected to continue until Tuesday evening, concerns regarding flooding or other related issues have been mitigated by the river’s current status below the danger mark. 

However, amidst the ongoing rainfall in Jammu and Kashmir, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued alerts for heatwave conditions in parts of east and south India until Saturday. This juxtaposition of weather phenomena underscores the diverse climatic conditions prevalent across different regions of the country.
